Arthur Zaaro – Artisanal Board Az Art 65 (Angsana Wood)
This limited collection is made from solid blocks of Angsana Wood cut for road maintenance in the Bukit Timah area. It features the deep gold, orange, red & grey colours Angsana is prized for. Angsana is much rarer than African Mahogany, so we usually only have a few boards at a time available.
When we cut & sand the wood it smells like Sandalwood (but the scent doesn’t last long unless you cut it or sand it again) — but you should be able to detect a little Sandalwood scent. Angsana is the national tree of the Philippines (they call it Narra.)
We dried & aged this collection like fine wine – the boards are cured, dried & will last a lifetime.
